I agree that online courses are very different from Face to face courses however I think that the instructor makes the class whether it be face to face or online. Since this is my first online class and I have a very good instructor I have not had the experience of feeling like I don't know what is going on, however, I have had lots of face to face classes where the class was terrible simply

I do agree with the fact that face to face classes can help you keep on top of your schedule, however, i am finding that online courses offer alot more flexibility and like Jemmer said, you always know whats coming way ahead of time..which I really like.

Totally. That goes for any class, no matter whether it's online or in person. I can see where it would really suck to have old material and not even have a live person to complain to. Somebody like that probably doesn't answer email either. So far my instructor seems like she's on top of things. She sent us all emails at the beginning of class to tell us what to look for (syllabus, schedule, etc.

Sorry, Marc, but I don't see it. My online teacher has a schedule for the entire semester in the content section. I've been in regular classes where we never knew what we were doing the next week until the instructor told us. I don't think THEY knew what they were going to do from one week to the next! I like this online schedule--it's A LOT easier to plan when you know what you're going to be

I share the same concerns about online learning and the possible problems that might happen due to the lack of F2F interactivity between student and instructors. As an international student, I experienced many difficulties taking online classes in my first semester at the University. Online courses were a new format that I had never tried and I didn't even know where to start.
